Wildlife:
The property has 30 hectares, which is covenanted under the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust, as Open-Space Covenant. Part of this is a large dam, which is home to a pair of endangered Brown Teal, as well as other ducks, and wildlife. Bird species domiciled on the property: -
Brown Teal, White-Necked Heron, North Island Weka, Fern Bird, Australasian Bittern, Pied Fantail, Eastern Rosella, Pukeko, Pied Shag,Welcome Swallow, Silvereye, Dunnock, Grey Warbler, Australasian Harrier, Magpie, Plus assorted introduced species.
